Is Dorsium a Cryptocurrency?

A simple question that deserves an important answer. What's the difference between cryptocurrency and utility token? And what does it mean for you?

Is Dorsium a Cryptocurrency?

People often ask: "Is Dorsium a cryptocurrency?"

The answer: yes and no.

Let us explain.

What's the Difference?

When people say "cryptocurrency", they usually think of Bitcoin. Something you buy, hold, and hope gets more expensive.

Dorsium is different.

DORS is a utility token. We're not designing it for speculation. We're designing it to be used.

What Is DORS For?

The DORS token is the "fuel" of the Dorsium network:

Transaction fees. Every operation on the blockchain costs DORS. Sending, receiving, running smart contracts - everything requires it.

Mining. You receive DORS tokens for securing the network. Active work, not passive investment.

Governance. The community votes on the project's future. Voting requires DORS.

In short: DORS is for participating in the network. Not for sitting in a wallet and "generating value".

Bitcoin vs DORS

Bitcoin DORS
Primary purpose Store of value Network usage
Designed for Payments, holding Transactions, mining, voting
Operating principle Proof of Work Hierarchical Delegated Consensus
Energy Massive Minimal

Bitcoin wants to be digital gold. DORS is the key to a working network.

What About Exchanges?

Fair question. If DORS is a token, can I trade it?

The answer: tokens will be freely transferable. Where and how they're traded is decided by the market.

We don't promise exchange listing. We don't decide that - exchanges do.

What we decide:

  • We're building for MiCA compliance (EU regulation)
  • We perform KYC on every hardware buyer
  • Tokenomics is transparent
  • No VC, no insider deals

In other words, we're doing everything to be ready if an exchange wants to evaluate us. But we don't give guarantees, because we can't.

More on this: No One Can Guarantee

What Not to Expect

If you're looking to get rich quick, you're in the wrong place.

We don't promise:

  • Price increases
  • Guaranteed returns
  • Certain exchange listing
  • Passive income

What to Expect

If you want to participate in a working project, you're in the right place.

We promise:

  • Transparent operations
  • Honest communication
  • Real infrastructure
  • Community-centered development

So Is It Cryptocurrency?

Technically yes - DORS is a digital token existing on a blockchain.

But if you're thinking of what the media calls "cryptocurrency" - a speculative asset you buy hoping it goes to the moon - then no.

DORS is a utility token. It's for using the Dorsium network.

That's it. Nothing more, nothing less.

Trust. Honor. Security.
